First Design

 

In science class Mr. Ray wanted us to make a hot-air balloon so that is what we did.

The first thing we did was to cut the string into four equal pieces.

After that we poked four holes and we tied the four strings in them.

We made the strings into double knots to ensure that they did not come undone.

Once we were finished with the design of the first hot-air balloon we headed to the gym.

We put hot air from the blow drier into the bag and we all let it go at the same time and it was up for two seconds.

 

Second Design

 

For the second design we decided to make a smaller hole. We also undid the knots on the first design to save the string and used the bigger garbage bag instead of the small one.

We poked holes into the bag and we put the string through and made four double knots then we headed up to the gym to test it.

It lasted between four and five seconds so we would say the bigger bag and the smaller hole works better, but it doesn’t work completely like a hot air balloon.
